Memories of an Island

In case you didn’t know, London is shut today. Tube strike means overloaded buses, taxi shortage, and traffic jams. Chelsea match in my hood means that even walking is out of question. So I am spending my evening thinking of the beautiful island, full of friendly and smiling people, with noisy reggae buses swishing back and forth, hearty and fresh macaroni pie off the back of a lunch van, warm sea and delightful sunshine. If you followed my Christmas-time adventures in Barbados, you know that I went swimming with turtles and had all my shopping sorted, walked into the sunset and played with waves. But I also got to see the best yachting vessels in the world, sailed past Rihanna’s house, watched locals wait for Simon Cowell to make an appearance, and had coffee next to Robert Mercer’s docked yacht. Rubbernecking is a real antidote to rock fever here, apparently!

Have you been on a nice holiday lately? Please share!
