Today started innocently geeky enough: my friend, who also happens to be a Doctor of Political Science, suggested an English-speaking tour of the Hungarian Parliament. It was fascinating, actually – no, really! Beautiful building, amazing interiors, plush seats, stained glass windows, and lots and lots of gold everywhere. I might have taken a cheeky picture or two with a guard but I will post about that later. Now is the time for a fashion post, and I can’t wait to share my joy in discovering a new brand. My journey towards this discovery (again!) started innocently enough: after the tour of Parliament, my Doctor Friend and I met my Linguist Friends for lunch. As we were comparing our sightseeing notes and impressions, one of my Linguist Friends said that earlier they’d seen a nice shop downtown and thought of me immediately. She even took a picture of the store window, googled its address, and sent me the link! I don’t know about you but I am rather touched by such a sweet and caring gesture. The shop is called Michal Negrin and belongs to an Israeli designer. It is artsy, it is pretty, it is extremely glittery! Born and raised in Kibbutz Naan, the designer creates whimsical Victorian-style dresses and jewelry with a modern twist: a dark rose here, Swarovski crystals there, lots of original pieces and quirky details. Also, a lifetime guarantee on all items!
I might have or might have not bought a dress there. I might have or might have not posted a picture below. Tell me what you think – do you like it? I reckon the split requires a bit more confidence but I am working on it.
Gorgeous details! xx
