Chelsea Flower Show 2015

As is the tradition, this year the summer social season in London opened with the Chelsea Flower Show: a delightful cacophony of colours, smells, and experiences. The Flower Show has been held at the Royal Chelsea Hospital since 1912. This year’s theme is Wild, and that included intentionally unkempt gardens, fields of poppies and lavender, waterfalls and river streams, irises and water lilies. Many flower arrangements within the inside pavilion were centred around the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, with tea cups, saucers, and cream biscuits hanging on ribbons over chairs and tables decorated with peonies (my favourite!) and lilies. The show gardens outside also featured quirky sculptures with the main characters of the book. This lovely afternoon was a treat by one of my London friends (thank you!), and in turn, I invite you to join us for a visual tour of the best of British: gardens, eccentricity, and fish & chips!

  1. Oh. My. Wow. Just wow. I’ve always wanted to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, so I’m going to try to reign in my rampaging envy and instead thank you for letting me live vicariously through you! đŸ˜‰ The roses! The peonies! The lily-of-the-valley! And Alice in Wonderland!! It is one of my favourite books. Also, what a lovely photo of you! Great, great post.
